Monsters is a play that was written and performed by students at The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Originally meant to be performed on stage at Pitt-Bradford's Studio Theater, 2020 unfortunately came with SARS-CoV-2 and the resulting golbal health pandemic. Therefore the show could not be performed on stage. But the show must go on! Dr. Kevin Ewert, professor of theater, decided we would produce a radio play styled production. The students met and rehearsed through Zoom, and recorded their audio on whatever decvices they had. Uploaded to the cloud I was able to then edit and mix the show as if I were there recording everyone myself. Take a listen over on the University's YouTube page, or listen right here!
Heard at the opening of the show, this soundscape sets the scene for a busy metropolitan subway station. This is the original unedited soundscape I created and used in the show before effects and mixing into dialogue. Take a listen!
This soundscape sets the scene for when our team visits artemis. Take a listen!
Used at any point one of the original team are talking about themselves. It is supposed to take up to "reality" buy making the audience realize we are in Hell. Take a listen!
Probably my ultimate favorite soundscape to have created. The atmosphere is easily set with the background music, patrons playing billyards, and glassware clanking in the background. You can almost picture it, low lighting, hazey from all the cigarette smoke. Overhead you can hear the subway system from the city above, a call to how deeply rooted our cities tunnel for advancements in infrastructure. Remember, we are in Hell. Take a listen!
